About the Space
Black Box is our 1,800sqft fully black blackout studio, with drapes or daylight optionality.

The full space is 14.5m x 12m, with an open plan kitchenette / backstage / HMU area. This area can be draped off to give a full 360 black backdrop with stage/shooting area of 11.5m x 12m, giving plenty of room for larger shoots, sets builds, performances, events and more. Included in your hire are 4 x Fresnel LEDs 4 x RGB Hex LEDs 2 x Spotlights with DMX controls. These are pre-mounted on the lighting grid which is at a height of 2.75m. We have our own in-house kit hire service and are well connected with local kit hire companies so if there is anything you need - just ask!  www.klatchkit.co.uk. In addition we have a wide variety of props to rent including plinths, scenic flats, coloramas and backdrops. We are a small and friendly team who want the studio hiring process to be as easy and no-nonsense as possible!

Space Rules
Studio hire is dry hire only unless agreed otherwise. We can only dispose of up to 5 large black bins’ worth of rubbish per day. You only have access to the studio you have booked, and are not permitted to enter neighbouring studios, or to film / rehearse / congregate in communal areas unless written permission to do so has been given to you in advance. No smoking or vaping is permitted inside the studio or throughout the building. You must comply with fire regulation requirements whilst in the building, so please ensure that access to fire exits is never obstructed and make sure signs for fire exits and fire equipment are always prominent and visible (you may not cover up signs or move fire equipment.) There are limitations on noise for Studio 1, 2 and 4 so as not to disrupt neighbouring productions - we cannot allow loud noise such as live instruments or construction in this studio unless you have been given written permission in advance by the Studio Manager. Cancellation & Refund Policy
      SpaceCloud Cancellation & Refund PolicyGuest service fee refunds for all bookings follow this policy:
      1. If the hire fee is fully refunded, the guest service fee will also be fully refunded.
      2. If only partial hire fee is refunded, the guest service fee will not be refunded.
      3. If a booking is cancelled due to the host's fault, total payment will be refunded. In this case, the guest must not cancel the booking directly and request a cancellation from the host.
      4. SpaceCloud refund policy takes precedence over a host's refund policy under the conditions outlined below.
        5. An event starts more than 3 hours after payment
        1. → Full refund for cancellation made within 2 hours of payment
        2. e.g., An event starting at 19:00 is paid for at 15:00 → If a cancellation is made by 17:00, total payment will be refunded.
          An event starts within 3 hours of payment
        1. → Full refund for cancellation made within 15 minutes of payment
        2. e.g., An event starting at 19:00 is paid for at 17:00 → If a cancellation is made by 17:15, total payment will be refunded.
      6. A promo code that has been used may be re-issued only under the conditions set out below. Once re-issued, the new promo code will be available in the booking details screen after cancellation.
        7. Eligible for re-issue
        1. If the full payment amount is refunded and the promo code is still within its validity period at the time of cancellation.
        2. e.g., A promo code valid from 1–30 September is used for a booking that is fully refunded and cancelled on 29 September
        3. → the promo code will be re-issued with the same validity period (1–30 September).
          Not eligible for re-issue
        1. - If the promo code has already expired at the time of cancellation
        2. - If only a partial refund is issued
        3. - If the payment is non-refundable
Host's Cancellation & Refund Policy A host’s refund policy applies to the hire fee, while guest service fee refunds follow SpaceCloud’s policy.
  • No refund for cancellation made on the day of the event.
  • No refund for cancellation made within 1 day of the event.
  • No refund for cancellation made within 2 days of the event.
  • No refund for cancellation made within 3 days of the event.
  • 50% refund for cancellation made at least 4 days before the event.
  • 50% refund for cancellation made at least 5 days before the event.
  • Full refund for cancellation made at least 6 days before the event.
  • Full refund for cancellation made at least 7–14 days before the event.
  • Full refund for cancellation made at least 15–30 days before the event.
  • Full refund for cancellation made at least 31 days before the event.
